In the capital Lucknow, a 24-year-old youth lost his life due to the negligence of a Municipal Corporation contractor. Ankit (24) was seriously injured by a rebar that came out of a drain under construction in Faizullaganj on the night of Diwali. He died during treatment at KGMU on Thursday night. He was fighting for his life for eight days. The doctors had removed the stuck rod near the eye by performing an operation. Still his life could not be saved.
Ankit’s father Moolchand has filed a case at Madiyav police station accusing the Municipal Corporation contractor of negligence. Inspector Shivanand Mishra said that the matter is being investigated. Meanwhile, after the post-mortem, the family took the body to Ramanagara Baskher village in Sitapur district.
